Begonias

Gardeners have long treasured begonias for their foliage and flower color, and begonias are a favorite for planting in containers, window boxes and hanging baskets. They're easy to grow and require minimal care as long as they're planted in well-drained soil. Begonias are tender bulbs, meaning they can't handle cold weather and must either be grown as annuals, brought indoors during the winter months or lifted or dug up in the fall and stored over winter. Begonias grow best in shaded to partially shaded conditions. Avoid planting begonia tubers where they will receive direct afternoon sunlight. When selecting begonia bulbs to buy online, consider their growth habit and flower color.
