Lilies
Lilies are among the most popular flower bulbs to grow in the garden. Their large, showy flowers come in an array of colors and add elegance, charm, and sometimes fragrance, to cut-flower displays. Lily bulbs can be planted in the spring and the fall. Different lily varieties bloom at different times. Asiatic lilies bloom in early to midsummer, while Oriental lilies bloom in mid to late summer. Depending on the variety, their height can range from just over 1 ft. to up to 8 ft. tall. Many lily varieties can also be grown in containers. When selecting lily bulbs for sale, consider their height, bloom time and color. In many areas of the country, lilies are grown as perennials and can stay in the garden over winter.
