Grapes
Growing your own grapes is a sweet treat—and they can enhance the landscape, too. Grape vines can be grown throughout much of the United States. However, different varieties grow better in northern climates, while others are suitable for warmer grow zones. Make sure the grape variety you choose to buy grows in your grow zone. For best performance and fruit production, grape vines need at least 6 or more hours of direct sunlight daily, well-drained soil, and an arbor or trellis for support. When selecting grape vines to grow in your garden, consider how you want to use them. Choose from seedless grape and seeded grapes for fresh eating. Other grapes are tops for making into juice, wine and jam.
