Drought-Tolerant
One way to conserve water and to spend less time watering the garden is to plant drought-tolerant perennials, such as daylilies, butterfly bushes, and lavender. Once established, drought-tolerant plants can handle some dry spells while still enhancing your landscape and garden with beautiful flowers and foliage. When planning a drought-tolerant garden or landscape, select a variety of flowering perennials, ornamental grasses and ground covers to buy. Some considerations when choosing drought-tolerant perennial plants are their grow zones, light requirements (full sun, partial shade, full shade), soil requirements, the plant's height and spread at maturity, flowering time (if applicable), color, and other qualities, including your own personal preference.
