Lavender
A herbaceous perennial, lavender is a versatile and popular plant that can be grown in herb gardens, perennial flower beds and cutting gardens. Both deer resistant and drought tolerant, this sun-loving perennial returns year after year. Blooming in the summertime, its fragrant, showy flowers attract butterflies. Lavender is used for fresh floral bouquets and dried for use in sachets and potpourris. It looks especially impressive when planted in groups or masses. Most lavender plant varieties grow in zones 5-8. When buying perennial lavender plants for the garden, factors to consider are the lavender variety's grow zone, mature height and spread, soil requirements and other growing requirements.
