Shrubs
Some of the most versatile plants in the landscape and garden, shrubs provide structure and beauty and can serve other functions as well. Fruit-bearing shrubs, like blueberries, can be ornamental and produce delicious fruits. When they burst into bloom, flowering shrubs add color and often fragrance—and may even lure pollinators. They can also be planted in a row to create a flowering hedge. Evergreen shrubs make beautiful windbreaks and privacy screens. Hydrangeas add summer color to the garden and cut-flower displays. When choosing shrubs and bushes to grow, make sure they are suitable for your hardiness zone. Also, take into account their mature height and spread, light requirements and soil requirements.
