All Shrubs
Planting shrubs in the garden or landscape adds structure and so much more. Shrubs are used to create informal or formal hedges, windbreaks and privacy screens. Flowering shrubs add pops of color to the landscape. They may also perfume the garden air and attract pollinators. Many shrub bushes produce fruit that's edible for humans, wildlife or both. Other shrubs, like lilacs and hydrangeas, are excellent for cut-flower displays. When choosing shrubs, make sure they are suitable for your grow zone. Also, check to see if they grow in full sun, partial shade or full shade. Because they can vary in size, note their mature height and spread as well as pruning requirements.
