Shade/Partial Shade
For the best garden performance, plant shrubs and bushes in areas that suit their light requirements. Many shrubs don't like direct afternoon sun and perform best in partial shade to full shade. Some of the best shrubs for shade are dwarf burning bush, azaleas, hydrangeas, gardenias and Daphnes. Like other shrubs, these shade plants provide structure, foliage and often flowers to the garden. When designing with shrubs, you can use them as a focal point, mass them or group them to form a hedge. Before buying shrubs for sale, make sure they are suitable for your hardiness zone. Also, check their soil requirements, mature height and spread, other growing requirements, flower and foliage color, and bloom time (if applicable).
